How-to videos
Short videos to help you get the most out of your undercarriage and drives.
Track direction
Installing Tracks the Right Way
A track put on backwards wears out fast. On top of the machine, the pin boss and the lip of each shoe should lead toward the front, the idler or blade end. If the trailing edges are leading like scoops, the track is on backwards. Not sure? Send us a photo at 250-318-7887 and we'll take a look.
Case drain test
Test it before you replace it
Before you spend money on a new final drive, make sure the final drive is the problem. A case drain test checks the travel motor for internal leakage and shows whether it's worn out.
This video is general information only. Always follow your machine's owner's manual and service manual for the correct test procedure, hose and fitting selection, pressure ratings and specs. Stalling the travel motor puts the machine under heavy load, so the test should only be done by a qualified person, with the machine secured and everyone clear. Interior Undercarriage isn't responsible for any damage or injury from doing this test.
Track wear
How to Check Track Chain Wear
Track chains wear at the rail, the pin boss and the link face. To check for stretch, tape over four pitches from pin centre to pin centre. Measure link height from the top of the rail to the shoe seat, and look for thin or uneven wear on the pins and bushings. Compare everything to your machine's wear chart. Not sure? Send us your measurements or a photo at 250-318-7887 and we'll take a look.
